WYSIWYG — What You See Is What You Get The coral in the photos is the exact specimen you will receive. Our photos are taken under medium blue reef lighting to represent the coral as accurately as possible to the naked eye. Colours may appear slightly different under your specific lighting setup. If you have any questions about colouration or would like additional photos before purchasing, please contact us — we're happy to help.

Little Red Ferrari is one of the most striking and instantly recognisable named Acropora morphs in the hobby. True to its name, this coral delivers an intense, vivid red colouration across its branches and axial corallites that under quality reef lighting is nothing short of spectacular. In a hobby where red Acropora can be notoriously difficult to maintain and even harder to find in genuine quality, Little Red Ferrari stands out as a genuine collector piece.

A branching Acropora with tight compact growth and brilliant red pigmentation, Little Red Ferrari is the kind of coral that stops visitors mid-sentence when they see your tank. Experienced SPS collectors actively hunt this morph and quality frags are rarely available for long. If you've been looking for a red Acropora worth owning — this is it.

As with all named Acropora morphs, colouration is influenced by lighting spectrum, intensity, and water chemistry. Under quality LED or T5 lighting with dialled-in parameters, Little Red Ferrari expresses its full potential with a depth and intensity of red that few corals in the hobby can match.

Care Guide

  • Care level: Advanced — best suited to experienced reef keepers with mature, stable, well-established systems. Not recommended for new tanks or reef keepers still stabilising their parameters
  • Lighting: High — Little Red Ferrari requires strong, consistent, full-spectrum lighting to maintain its characteristic red pigmentation. Under insufficient lighting the coral will pale and lose its colour intensity. Upper rockwork positioning under quality LED or T5 lighting is strongly recommended. Note: red Acropora pigmentation is particularly sensitive to lighting spectrum — ensure your lighting includes sufficient blue and violet spectrum alongside white
  • Flow: High — strong, random, turbulent flow is essential. Good flow keeps tissue clean, delivers nutrients to polyps, and prevents tissue recession at the base of branches. Wavemakers and alternating flow patterns work best. Avoid laminar or single-direction flow
  • Placement: Upper to mid rockwork with strong light and flow access. Allow adequate space around the colony as the coral grows and will compete with neighbouring corals for light and space
  • Temperament: Peaceful — does not produce sweeper tentacles but will shade and overgrow slower growing neighbours as the colony expands. Plan placement with long term growth in mind
  • Feeding: Primarily photosynthetic. Benefits from dissolved organic nutrients and can be supplemented with fine particulate reef foods such as reef roids or amino acid supplements 2-3 times per week. Maintaining low but non-zero nutrient levels supports strong growth and colour expression — nitrate 2-8ppm, phosphate 0.02-0.08ppm is the ideal range for maintaining red pigmentation

Water Parameters

  • Temperature: 24–26°C
  • Salinity: 1.025–1.026
  • Calcium: 400–450ppm
  • Alkalinity: 8–10 dKH (stability is critical — swings of more than 0.5 dKH per day can cause rapid tissue necrosis. Daily testing recommended)
  • Magnesium: 1280–1380ppm
  • Nitrate: 2–8ppm
  • Phosphate: 0.02–0.08ppm

Note: Red pigmentation in Acropora is among the most demanding to maintain in the hobby. Ultra-low nutrient systems and incorrect lighting spectrum are the two most common causes of colour loss in red morphs. If your Little Red Ferrari begins to pale, check your lighting spectrum and nutrient levels before adjusting any other parameters.

A Note On Frag Size And Growth This listing is for a frag of Little Red Ferrari Acropora. Frags are mounted on a frag plug and are actively growing. Growth rate and final colony size will depend on your system's lighting, flow, and water chemistry. Under ideal conditions Little Red Ferrari is a rewarding grower that will develop into an impressive colony over time.

Shipping All livestock is packed with care and shipped Australia-wide with heat or cold packs as required for the season. Shipping insurance is available at checkout and strongly recommended for all Acropora orders.

Named morph Acropora frags are among the more sensitive corals to ship. We take every precaution to ensure your specimen arrives healthy, hydrated, and ready to acclimate. We strongly recommend shipping insurance on all named morph orders without exception.

As a live coral, natural variation in colouration may occur depending on your specific lighting and tank conditions. We photograph all WYSIWYG specimens individually to ensure what you see is what you receive.
