NPX BioPlastics are biodegradable polymer pellets engineered to reduce nitrate and phosphate through bacterial colonization. When installed in a fluidized filter or media bag, the pellets develop anaerobic zones that promote denitrification while supporting aerobic bacteria growth. Excess bacterial biomass sloughs off during water circulation, providing live food for corals, clams, and sponges, or can be removed via protein skimmer. Use 100 ml per 100L of aquarium volume; expect measurable nutrient reduction within 2–4 weeks. Replenish pellets every 3–6 months as they're gradually consumed. Essential requirements: maintain strong water flow to prevent hydrogen sulfide buildup, ensure adequate oxygenation, and run a protein skimmer continuously for nutrient export. Heavy-feeding systems may benefit from combining NPX BioPlastics with PhosBan granular ferric oxide in separate reactors. This 200 ml dose treats 200L aquariums.
